My item looks different from the photos or has small variations. Is this a defect?

In many cases, no. Small variations are normal for many of the products we carry, especially items that are handmade, hand-finished etc. as mentioned on each product’s page.

This can include:

  • Slight differences in color, shape, glaze, or finish
  • Minor surface marks, texture variation, or unevenness
  • Subtle differences between individual pieces and product photos

Natural variation is part of the process and makes each piece unique. These variations do not affect performance and are not considered defects. Product photos are representative of the style and shape, but exact appearance can vary from piece to piece.

If an item has structural damage, such as cracks, chips, or functional issues that affect use, that may be a different situation and should be reviewed, please contact us.
