How is decaf coffee processed?

Our decaf coffees use the EA (Ethyl Acetate) process, a gentle and naturally derived method designed to preserve flavour.

In this process, green coffee is first steamed to open up the beans, then washed with ethyl acetate made from naturally occurring compounds found in fruits. The EA binds to caffeine and removes it, after which the beans are thoroughly cleaned and dried before roasting.

This process allows the coffee to retain sweetness, clarity, and origin character, rather than tasting flat or overly processed. The result is a decaf that still tastes like coffee, just without the caffeine.
