Changing Strength
To make your espresso stronger:

  • Stop the shot at a smaller output weight
  • Grind finer
  • Use a larger input weight

To make your espresso weaker:

  • Let the shot run to a larger output weight
  • Grind coarser
  • Use a smaller input weight

Changing Extraction
If your shot is tasting salty or too sour:

  • Let the shot run to a larger output weight
  • Grind finer
  • Use a smaller input weight

If your shot is tasting bitter and dry:

  • Stop the shot at a smaller output weight
  • Grind coarser
  • Use a larger input weight
